Pitched roofs are a commonly used roofing type, especially in residential construction. At first glance, they may appear to serve primarily a decorative function, emphasizing the character of a house. However, roof finishing elements such as gutters and soffits are important not only for aesthetics. The gutter system is designed to effectively drain rainwater, while the soffit protects the rafters and roofing membrane from weather conditions.
A very good solution for pitched roofs is the use of ceramic or concrete tiles, available in various shapes: monk, beaver tail, or rectangular. A pitched roof perfectly showcases their color—clay red, brown, or graphite. Roof tiles blend beautifully with the architectural style of buildings with non-flat roofs. At the same time, they are extremely durable, weather-resistant, and can withstand strong winds.
Metal roofing tiles (metal sheets shaped like traditional tiles) also work very well on pitched roofs. Their advantage over traditional tiles is lower cost and a wider range of available profiles, colors, and coatings. These coatings affect not only the aesthetics of the sheet but also its lifespan. The surface layer, made of fine mineral or ceramic granules coated in acrylic resin and reinforced with biocides, significantly delays the appearance of moss or green buildup on the roof.
