Flat and low-slope roofs are reinforced with multiple layers of asphalt. Each additional layer increases protection and improves the roof’s performance. A single, double, or triple layer can be applied. Multilayer roofing systems offer a combination of durability and watertightness.
As the name suggests, inverted roofs differ from conventional constructions. While the same materials are used, the order of applying the insulation and waterproofing layers is reversed. This means that a special water-resistant thermal insulation layer is installed on top of the waterproofing membrane. The insulation boards are laid loosely and weighted down with paving slabs or gravel ballast. Since the waterproof membrane is covered, it is protected from damage, resulting in improved performance and longer lifespan of the entire roof system.
Metal roofs are a commonly used solution for both new installations and renovations of existing roofs, due to their exceptional durability, design flexibility, and low operating costs. Metal roofing systems can be made from various materials, including galvanized steel, aluminum, or tin. Metal panels are often the preferred option for projects where execution time is a key factor.
As the name implies, this type of membrane is applied to the roof in a single layer. Common examples of such membranes include EPDM, PVC, and TPO. EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a highly versatile material that requires minimal maintenance while withstanding extreme temperatures and UV exposure. PVC (polyvinyl chloride) membranes are particularly suited for roofs that need to resist various oils, greases, and chemicals. TPO roofing systems, on the other hand, offer built-in UV protection and excellent resistance to weather conditions.
